No more dry, damaged hair - how to keep your hair healthy with things you can find in your kitchen !

Living in the harsh, dry conditions of the Northern Cape, hair damage has become one with our DNA. We are what they call "kroes" (frizzy). Our hair curls and frizzes because of the very dry hot/cold weather conditions we live in and also the density of our water. Together with that we punish our natural hair with chemicals and barely treat it, we only wash, dry and style. Split ends are ever lasting, because of the brittle nature of our curls.

Here are some tips to help tame your mane & stay cost effective:

-- Mayonaisse & Egg oil treatment.

1 tbs Mayonaisse

1 large egg

*half avocado

*black Jamaican castor oil

Mix together and put on the roots of your hair. Work through hair from roots to tips & let it sit until try. Rinse with lukewarm water and wash with shampoo & conditioner.

This treatment can be done once a week to ensure healthy growth.

*TIP: Buy Black Jamaican Castor Oil & pour a few drops in the treatment. This works wonders for brittle, damaged hair. And thickens the hair as well. You can also mix in half an avocado. The protein stimulates the hair follicles.

-- Egg & Plain Yoghurt Hair Mask

1 tbs plain yoghurt

1 large egg

Mix together and apply as mask. This hair mask stimulates hair growth, restricts hair from breaking & minimizes hair loss. Do this once a week with a deep shampoo wash, condition & style as usual.

This can also be used as a face mask. It's hydrating, antibacterial & minimizes pours.
